Category: Sports Participated In. Coached pony league, Forestville Boys club; basketball at St. Matthews church league, biddy basketball Forestville boys club. Was captain of the golf team Industrial league.. Championship Teams: Played baseball with West end club; baseball for the French Club; hockey with the Bristol Town Team. All League/All-Conference: Played semi-pro football Sons of Italy; semi-pro hockey for the Bristol Town team and also the Club Francais Bristol; basketball in the New Departure league building 32. In the service of our country basketball Maxwell field Alabama. Personal Statistics: At the time we played back in 1937-1940, statistics were out the window. In St. Johnsbury Academy I captained the basketball team and was high scorer. Football I was quarterback for the team 2 years and obtained 4 letters: basketball, baseball, football & hockey. I didnt go to school in Bristol but I participated in all the sports here. I was a member of Forestville boys club for 25 years and then a charter member. I was lucky enough to become President of the Forestville boys club. I participated in Boys Club shows as a soloist many times and was a member of St. Anns church choir for many years. Out family lived on Landry St. in Bristol. I hope the information I gave you is enough. I gave a lot of info to Bob Montgomery a couple of years ago when my memory was fresher, ha, ha. My two sons Tom and Don participated in all sports for Eastern High School. My partner and I won the championship in Horse Shoes. I also won the golf championship for Wallace Barnes twice once low net and once low gross 75. Also was semi-pro in football under the coaching of Frank Lango at the end of the season. |
