STATISTICS

I don’t remember exact statistics but as a baseball player – always had a low E.R.A. and a good/great record in all levels of baseball. I always gave my all both as a player and as a coach – have many great memories and so many friends were made because of it.

MISC. INFORMATION

Baseball Coaching – 1980-84: Bristol American Legion Head Coach. Record 145-55 over 5 years (youngest coach in state – maybe in state history, 21 years old in 1980) Won 3 zone titles, 2 state titles and played in two Northeast Regional Finals ’83, ’84; Won N.E. Regional in ’84; played in College World Series in ’84 in New Orleans. (If you remember our players and style in ’83 and ’84, you would remember the juggernaut we had).

1985 – Head Coach – Western CT. State University.

1982 & 1983 – Asst. Baseball Coach at Division 1 North La. Univ. – won Southland Conference in 1983 and played against #1 Texas w/Roger Clemons and pals in the NCAA Regionals.

1987-1990 Head Coach Stafford H.S., CT – 4 year record – 53-27 qualified for state tournament all 4 years.

1991 -  Pitching Coach – University of Hartord.

1994 & 1995 – Head Baseball Coach West Australian Olympic Program – Australian Institute of Sport – best 40 players selected and trained in Perth, WA under my tutelage. My Olympic team won Silver medal and performed well in all World Championships afterwards. (Peter Moylan presently of the Atlanta Braves was one of my students) Many others played minor league baseball.

1994 & 1995 – played in the State A League on the Wimbley Magpies with John “Onion” Greenleaf (a forgotten Bristol Legend) and led team to Championship finals – I received “Fairest and Best trophy” MVP while playing there my 1st year.

1996 to 2003 Played in over 30 leagues for New Britain and later North Haven with much success, except against the Bristol team who I pitched against often but never beat. (Maybe once)

Worked Summer Camps at the Bill Holoway baseball school many summers and through the Australian Institute of Sport. Worked with numerous Major League Head Assistant Coaches.
