Bristol Eastern High School 1964-1968, Cross Country & Track Team

First African American to be four year starter BEHS Cross Country team that went on to win state championship in 1967-68.

Championship Teams:

C.C.I.L.  1965 – Cross Country – C.C.I.L. undefeated conference

1967 – State C.C.I.L. Sectional Champions; 1968 Track Division Champs and State C.C.I.L. Sectional Champs.

All League/All-Conference:

All C.C.I.L. Team; All State Team.  Team Members:  Scott Carter, Willie Yopp, Richard Atwell, Thomas Silva, Robert Gagnon, Robert Castonguay. 

Personal Statistics:A member of the 1967 was the first State Championship for B.E.H.S. and the first title for Bristol Eastern since 1941.  To date BEHS still holds the Cross Country record in-town.

Community Involvement:

1967-Class Vice President BEHS

 Lifetime member of the Bristol Historical Society and former Board member

Appointed by former Mayor Stortz to the Board of Directors for the BCO in 2007 and is still serving.

Active member of Bristol CERT (Community Emergency Response Team).
