One of Bristol’s best-ever basketball players, Terry was an All-State first team pick for Bristol Eastern High School in 1962.
He was an All-League selection for both his junior and senior seasons at Bristol Eastern, leading the league in scoring. During his senior year, he led his team to the league title and a No. 1 ranking in the state playoffs.
He lettered twice in basketball at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) before playing on the U.S. Army team at Fort Dix. Terry also played with the New Britain Nets of the New England Basketball League before an auto accident left him wheelchair bound.
He joined the Rochester Wheels of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association in 1981 and played with the team until 1989, while also coaching in 1987-88.
