He played baseball for Greene-Hills School and Bristol High where he graduated in 1943. He also played as the only non-Plainville athlete on the Plainville American Legion baseball team.
He was the manager/owner/player for the Forestville Eagles basketball and baseball teams and also played semi-pro ball for the Bristol Celtics and in the CT State Polish League.
He was a duck pin bowler competing in the Knights of Columbus and Bristol Polish Leagues, winning top average and top three on several occasions.
He was treasurer of the CT Polish Girls and Boys basketball teams, was a co-founder of the Forestville Little League, and organized the Priest – Police CYO benefit games. A very civic-minded man, his list of affiliations is lengthy.
